A classic battle between the sexes Lysistrata centres on the decision by the women of Ancient Greece to withhold sexual privileges from their war-mongering husbands and lovers in order to force them to negotiate peace. Declaring a sex strike, the WAGS of Ancient Greece decide that no peace means no sex, which leads to a farcical series of events. Adapted by Germaine Greer and Phil Wilmott from Aristophanes' Greek masterpiece, Lysistrata is a hilarious update of this classic play, giving the battle of the sexes an outing full of farce and bawdy innuendo.
